A great example of managing a student’s poor decision. I cannot reiterate enough the fact that punishing students only builds animosity, while empowering students to take ownership of their actions will only strengthen respect and trust. I challenge all teachers to learn to become coaches first, that is, the coach who remains by the side of the athlete as an advocate and counselor.
