TEACHER ADVENTURES: When you don’t read your emails

ME (in class): …and it’s due Friday.
STUDENT: Friday?! But it’s a minimum day.
ME: Is it?
TEACHER ASSISTANT: Miss, it is the end of the quarter. Minimum days are always at the end of the quarter.
ME: Woo! Hoo! Okay, it’s due Monday. [Class laughs] Now what?
STUDENT: We don’t have school Monday.
ME: I should really start reading my emails. [Student laughs] What now?
STUDENT: Nothing. I’ll just tell my mom why you have not responded to her.
